It is obvious from the above table that you need a bull with a very good growth rate to perform well at Tully. All the bulls had excellent feed conversion figures.J Duggan's bull won third prize of 1000 euro and sold for 3750 euro thus netting Jarlath 4750 euro. He had a height of 138 and a growth rate of 113. He was big enough to run with cows at 16 months of age. The bulls will be going in at twelve months of age for September '05 intake to Tully. The reason behind this being that the bulls will be more saleable at 18 months of age for March '06 sale. The following points should be taken into consideration when choosing a bull to enter for Tully

1. Correct feet and legs
2. Good length, growth and muscling
3. Halter trained nad ringed
4. If an ET calf, recipient dam to be tested for Johnes disease.
5. If natural calf, genetic dam has to be tested for John disease.
6. Calf has to be tested for IBR, BVD, EBL, TB and brucellosis
7. Calf must be waned and eating meal.

Jarlath Duggan with his top performing bull Ross Valiant sold for 3750 euro at Tully sale March '05.
