LIBRAMONT TRIP

Friday

I arrived on Friday Morning and was collected at airport by Belgian Blue Herdbook representative. I was taken to meet up with members from all over the world. We were brought to four farms. The quality of cattle on all farms was excellent. Two of the farms ran stock bulls with all cows. The other two were AI. The thing that caught my eye the most was the mobility of all these cattle, also their height and length.

Saturday

On Saturday morning, we went to the Libramont Show. This is a very good show, the quality of cattle was outstanding. Later on in the day the Belgian Blue Herdbook had a presentation to members from different countries. Our own past chairman Michael Woods, was presented with a medal and was one of four delegates from different countries chosen to become an honorary member of the Ordre du Blanc Bleu Beige. Michael was present at the first meeting of the Order of the Blanc Bleu Beige which celebrated it's 20 th anniversary this year. After the presentation we had a meal.

Sunday

A meeting of the World Conference was held on Sunday. Michael and I attended. We gave a run down on the breed in Ireland and listened to all the other speakers.  It was very interesting.
I would like to take this opportunity to tharaK all the farms we visited for their hospitality, Pierre and Evelyn from the Belgian Herdbook and also, all other members present from all the Herdbooks around the world who made this trip so informative.
