Hall of Fame Award 2008 Pat and Helen Walsh were nominated by the Belgian Blue Cattle Society for the National Hall of fame award 2008. Pat and Helen Walsh were among the earlier breeder’s of Pedigree Belgian Blue Cattle in Ireland. They founded the Roan Herd in the early nineties. Roan Maxi was a unique Pedigree Belgian Blue cow, as she had nine pedigree calves naturally. Jarlath Duggan in Rathdowney later purchased this cow for her maternal traits. Jarlath has a number of her progeny in his herd who are showing great promise for the future. Pat and Helen have been dedicated to the promotion of Belgian Blue´s especially in their native County Cork. Pat was always on hand to organise promotional events for the Breed at The National Ploughing Championships, Millstreet Dairy Show and at the Agriculture College in Clonakilty. Helen was a council member for a number of years. For their commitment and dedication to the Belgian Blue Breed in Ireland the society have put them forward for the National Hall of Fame Award for 2008.
