In brief

THE Italian market has confirmed it has a preference for Irish Crossbred U and E grade Belgian Blue Weanlings, the Belgian Blue cross bred weanling is commanding the same price in Italian meat plants as the French born cattle with the Irish Belgian Blue cross bred cattle higher kill out with the lowest intake levels leaving them the breed of choice. Other breeds imported from Ireland need to be at least 20 cent per kilo cheaper that the Irish cross bred Belgian Blue weanling as the meats plants pay less for these animals.
